The police in West Bengal's Birbhum district have successfully seized a massive cache of approximately 20,000 gelatin sticks merely days after the Delhi blast, resulting in the arrest of one individual. The large consignment of explosives was discovered on Tuesday night during a routine vehicle checking operation being carried out by the police on the Sultanpur–Nalhati Road. The gelatin sticks were found meticulously packed into 50 separate bags, all concealed within a pick-up van that was intercepted by the vigilant police team.
The van was reportedly en route from Pakur, Jharkhand. Following the seizure, police immediately took action, arresting one person in connection with the illicit transportation. The arrested individual has been taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation, with the police looking to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and the masterminds behind it.
An official police statement confirmed the arrest, noting that a specific case has been registered under relevant sections of the law. Further investigation is actively underway to determine the exact destination and intended use of the substantial quantity of gelatin sticks.
